William Stanley Tawresey, 72, of Collingdale, an Army veteran of the Korean War, died March 4 at Mercy Suburban Hospital in Norristown.
Billy was born in Millville, N.J., the son of the late Harold and Hannah McCormick Tawresey . He was a graduate of Overbrook High School in Philadelphia, where he was a track star, earning numerous medals for track and field.
Mr. Tawresey was a factory worker for 10 years until an injury forced him to stop working. He previously worked for Acme Markets for 15 years. He was a member of the VFW Post in Elsmere, Del.
Survivors: Wife, Irene Wiegand Tawresey.
Service and Burial: Private.
Arrangements: James F. Knoetgen Funeral Home, Collingdale.
