Catherine Stockhart immigrated with her husband Matthias on the ship the Gaston to the United States through New York on June 22, 1855. Matthias and Catherine originally settled in Kenosha Wisconsin, but had moved to the Norwood, Carver County, Minnesota area by 1865. They had 12 children: Christian, Valentine, Christina, John, Peter, Nicholas, Lizzy, Kate, Theresia, Ursula, Matthias Jr, Lena (Helena).
