F. Van Artsdalen, Veteran Of World War, Dies
Frank C. Van Artsdalen 59, custodian since July 1, 1951, of the Sea Isle City Fire House, died yesterday (Thursday) in Mercy Hospital, to where he had been removed Monday, of last week, following a heart attack. He had first suffered a heart attack several months ago.

Born in Philadelphia, he had resided in Sea Isle City the past 32 years, and has also been employed by the City prior to going to the Fire House.

He was a veteran of World War One, serving an Auxiliary Unit in France, England and Germany, and was awarded the Gold Chevron Victory Metal.

He was a charter member and chaplain of the Sea Isle Memorial Post No. 1983, Veterans of Foreign Wars, and a former member and past finance officer of the Smith-Lamanna-Revelle Post, American Legion, of which he was a charter member.

He is survived by his wife, Margaret; son, Frank Jr., of Marlyn Manor, three brothers, Harry of Clermont, Spencer of Leesburg and John of Merchantville; and two granddaughters.

Funeral services will be held Sunday afternoon at two o'clock at the Lewis Funeral Home, South Dennis, with Rev. Walter M. Sawn, pastor of the Sea Isle City Methodist Church, officiating. Interment will be in the Calvary Baptist Church, Ocean View. A military service will be held by the V.F.W. and American Legion Posts preceding the funeral service.

There will be a viewing Saturday evening from 7 to 9 at the Lewis Funeral Home.
