Opal Marie Bevington, 79, died at 9:15 p.m. Monday at her home at Route 1, St. Joe, where she had resided 10 years.
Mrs. Bevington had been ill 2 years. She was born in Adams County, Ind., Oct 20, 1893 to Elmer J. and Leslie (Stryker) Ray.
She married Jesse Bevington Feb. 17, 1912 in Willshire, Ohio. Mrs. Bevington was a member of the St. Mark's Lutheran Church, St. Joe.
Surviving besides the husband are one son, Forrest, and one daughter, Mabel Bevington, both of Route 1, St. Joe; one brother, Raymond Ray, Route 1, Columbia City; three sisters, Ortha Townsend, Berne; Francile Bauer, South Bend, and Florine Durbin, New Haven and three grandchildren.
Services are Thursday at 2 p.m. at St. Mark's Lutheran Church, St. Joe, with Rev. Dennis J. Kuchera, officating. Calling is at the Baidinger and Walter Funeral Home, Spencerville, Wednesday from 1 - 4 p.m. and from 7-9 p.m.
Preverred memorials are to the church building fund. Burial in Riverside Cemetery, St. Joe.
