Barney F. Brewington was the third of eight known children of Evans Brewington (c1815-c1890) and Sarah (went by Sally) Perkins (1810-???), who married 29 Jul 1833 at Limestone County, Alabama. The family moved to Missouri in c1840 and Evans was a grocer in Des Arc, Iron County, Missouri in 1880.
Barney fought for the Missouri Union Forces during the Civil War. Barney married Emily Anne Stephens (1837-1911) on 16 Apr 1858 at Fredericktown, Madison County, Missouri. Barney and Emily were the parents of eight known children, namely:
1. Henry Harrison Brewington (1860-p1900)
2. Mary Jane Brewington (1851-1862)
3. August Brewington (1864-1865)
4. Ella Brewington Wilson (1868-1942)
5. William David Brewington (1872-1899)
6. Fannie Brewington Daniels Stevenson (1874-1900)
7. Sarah Anna Brewington Jones (1875-1945)
8. Minnie Brewington Fitz (1881-1950)
The son Henry married Sallie Jane Russell (1861-1947) on 15 Aug 1880 at Iron County, Missouri and they were the parents of 11 known children and lived in Iron and Madison County, Missouri. Henry disappeared before 1910 and nothing else is known of him.
