George was born on April 26, 1935 to Christopher John Hamilton and Imogene Truett Hamilton at Port Arthur, Texas. His parents and one brother, Joseph Warren Hamilton, preceded him in death.
He attended Stephen F. Austin schools, Port Arthur, Texas and graduated in 1954. He attended Lamar Tech in Beaumont. He was in the U.S. Naval Reserve and in 1958 he enlisted in the U.S. Army. He was stationed in Korea and was honorably discharged as Platoon Sergeant in 1960. During his life time George was employed by Texaco, Inc., USI Chemical Company, Deer Park, Texas for approximately 10 years. Paralysis from an aneurism found George rebuilding his skills. He completed a business course at Durham Business College in Pasadena, Texas. This study lead to employment as a dispatcher with the City of Pasadena, Texas for approximately ten years. George had many intrests including boat racing, golfing, and earning a private pilot license.
He is survived by 2 sons, Roger Wayne Hamilton of Paris, France and Joseph Paul Hamilton and his wife, Stacy, of Texas; granddaughters Heather Holstein and her husband, Charles; Holly D. Hamilton; and Kindal Jeane Hamilton; and a new born great granddaughter, Madison Holstein. In addition, a sister, Imogene Hamilton Pulleine, and husband John William Pulleine, Christopher J. Hamilton, Lowell R. Hamilton and wife Dorothy Hamilton.
George was a member of the First Baptist Church, Pasadena, Texas. Cremation will follow research at UTMB and his remains will repose at Truett Family Texas Historical Cemetery at Jasper County Texas.
