Midnight was a wonderful companion and friend. She was loving and loyal. She loved everyone and they loved her back. The house is empty without her. She is deeply loved and missed.

She passed quietly in her sleep without any extended illness. That is a blessing to us. She stopped eating one day and was gone the next.

My husband and I love all animals and have devoted as much of our lives as we can to rescuing them. One time, hubby found 5 newborn abandoned kittens at the junk yard. Of course he brought them home. We lost one but through handfeeding, we saved 4 of them. Midnight, although she never had puppies, mothered them. She cleaned them and kept them warm. She just knew what to do. She would watch them and make sure they didn't crawl too far away. They were her babies. They miss her very much.

If I could have a lifetime wish
A dream that would come true
I'd pray to God with all my heart
For yesterday and you
A thousand words can't bring you back
I know because I've tried
And neither will a million tears
I know because I've cried
You left behind my broken heart
And happy memories too
I never wanted memories
I only wanted you."
