Sylvia Ruiz Garcia, 67, went to be with our Lord on Wednesday, January 26, 2011. She was born on December 17, 1943 in Robstown, Texas to Jesus and Herminia Pena Ruiz. She was an LVN at Spohn Memorial Hospital from 1966-1972 and was also employed at Riverside Hospital for the next 30 years; she was a Catholic, and a lifelong resident of Robstown, Texas. She was also a loving wife, mother, sister, grandmother, and friend who will be dearly missed by all who knew her.
She is preceded in death by her parents, her brother, Jesus Ruiz, Jr. and her Father and Mother-in-Law, Pedro and Leonor Garcia.
She is survived by her husband of 44 years, Apolinar "Paul" Garcia of Robstown, Texas; one daughter, Debra (Mel) Hernandez of Robstown, Texas and a sister, Maria Angel Suarez of Robstown, Texas. She was also blessed with one granddaughter, Victoria Gonzales and numerous other relatives and friends.
A Rosary will be recited at 7pm on Friday, January 28, 2011 at Ramon Funeral Home Chapel in Robstown, Texas.
The Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 1PM on Saturday, January 29, 2011 at St. Anthony's Catholic Church in Robstown, Texas.
Interment will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery in Robstown, Texas.
