The Ashland {OH} Press 2/24/1887 - An article on the golden wedding celebration of uncle Peter & aunt Sarah - how they married in Bedford, PA... moved to Perrysville in 1861... were married again by the minister... their neat little cottage could not hold all the guests...a joyful occasion... from early morning until night... "Peter Carmack's house was moved & made into an office. Mother Carmack has gone to live with her granddaughter, Laura Hisey, at Massillon." (Ashland {OH} Press 5/17/1888)

"On Monday afternoon, May 29, 1893, at the home of her daughter, Mrs. J. H. Buttorff, Howes street, Sarah Carmack, aged 73 years and 9 days.
The deceased was born May 20, 1820, at Bedford, Bedford county, Pennsylvania, and was married to Peter Carmack Feb. 16, 1837. Mr. and Mrs. Carmack removed in 1844 to Jeromesville, Ohio, thence to Perrysville, Ohio, in 1861, where her husband died in 1887. Shortly after her husband's death Mrs. Carmack came to Colorado and has since had a home with her daughter, Mrs. Rebecca Buttorff. Three children were born to the deceased, one son and two daughters. The daughters still survive, but the son died at the age of 34. Mrs. Carmack has been a member of the M. E. church and a consistent christian for upwards of half a century and died having full faith in the promises. The funeral was held Tuesday afternoon at the house, Rev. J. F. Coffman delivering the discourse."

"Card of Thanks
The undersigned wish to publicly thank their friends in Fort Collins for sympathy extended and assistance rendered during the illness and subsequent death of their mother, Mrs. Sarah Carmack, and especially do they thank the choir of the M. E. church for their excellent services at the time of the funeral."
