GAMBIER — Nona Doris Abrams, 71, of Newcastle Road, Gambier, passed away Wednesday, Feb. 23, 2005, at the Knox Community Hospital in Mount Vernon.

She was born Dec. 19, 1933, in Vernal, Utah, the daughter of Wallace and Elsie (Nelson) Twitchell, and had been a resident of the Gambier area since 1979, moving from Indianapolis, Ind. Nona was an avid bowler, and was a past president of the Sparettes Bowling League and past member of the Monday Night Mixed League. She also loved playing bingo and cooking.

She is survived by her loving husband, Bill W. Abrams, whom she married June 2, 1956; her six children, Nancy (Ernie) Gonzales of Las Vegas, Nev., Danny (Beverly) Goulding of Russellville, Ark., Ken (Candy) Goulding of Layton, Utah, Penny (Sam) Cornelius of Sharon, Pa., Rick (Kay) Abrams of Mount Vernon and Cathie (Steve) Wallace of Mount Vernon; 18 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; three brothers, James Twitchell of Salt Lake City, Utah, Tony (Garnet) Twitchell of Moses Lake, Wash., and Max (Millie) Twitchell of St. George, Utah; and special friends, Bob (Penny) Wilson, Dave (Janice) Judson and Micky (Cindy) Wallace.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by four sisters and two brothers.

Friends may call today from 6 to 8 p.m. in the Flowers-Snyder Funeral Home, where a funeral will be Saturday at 11 a.m. Interment at a later date will be held in Mount Vernon Memorial Gardens.
