Elizabeth Mae Alberty, age 89, of Canton, MO passed away Friday December 17, 2010 in the Lewis County Nursing Home at Canton.

Elizabeth was born August 3, 1921 in Canton a daughter of Lawrence Edwin and Effie Elizabeth Pilcher Barth. She was married to Edwin (Epp) Alberty Feburary 21,1943 at Canton, MO. he preceded her in death April 23,1983

Elizabeth was a graduate of Blessing School of Nursing in Quincy, IL and for many years served as school nurse for Culver-Stockton College in Canton. After her retirement as the nurse for Culver-Stockton College she was house mother for the Chi Omega Sorority at CSC. Elizabeth was a member of the First Baptist Church in Canton.

Surviving are two sons Bill Alberty of Edina, MO and Marty Alberty and his wife Patti of Canton; one daughter Sherry Ward and her husband Russ of Quincy; one sister Barbara Ann Speeler of Conyers, GA; three grandsons, Wade Alberty of St. Louis, MO, Philip Alberty of St. Charles, MO and Matt Ward and his wife Sheri of St. Charles; two granddaughters, Anne Alberty of Columbia, MO and Robin Banta and her husband Derek of Quincy; great grandchildren, Alaina and Kinley Ward and Tyler Banta; three step grandchildren, Sheri Ward, Amanda Kearns, Wade Hendrickson; three step great gradchildren, Jonathan Downs, Cameron Kearns and Olivia Hendrickson; three nieces, Diane McQuade, Kathy Russell and Mary Whisenant and one nephew Steve Speeler. Elizabeth was preceded in death by her parents and her husband.

Funeral services will be Tuesday December 21, 2010 at 10:30 a.m. at the Davis Funeral Home in Canton with Bill Alberty and Rev. Brian Stone officiating. Visitation will be Monday December 20, 2010 after 4:00 p.m. with the family meeting friends from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. at Davis Funeral Home in Canton. Interment will be in Forest Grove Cemetery at Canton.

A Memorial has been established for a graduate of Canton R-V who will be attending Culver-Stockton College and Blessing–Rieman School of Nursing .


Grandchildren Pallbearers: Wade Alberty, Philip Alberty, Matt Ward, Sheri Ward, Anne Alberty, Robin Banta and Derek Banta.
