Mishawaka Enterprise, Fri., Feb. 17, 1905, p. 1:
"Death From Consumption
The remains of the late Mrs. Frank Brockhaus, who died in St. Louis on the 9th, of consumption, arrived here on Tuesday night and were taken to the home of the parents. The funeral was held on Sunday afternoon from the Christian Church, Rev. E. M. Barney officiating.

The deceased was formerly Miss Annetta Emma Witwer, of this city, she being a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. A. C. Witwer, who live on Cedar street. Her age was 20 years and 3 months. On April 23, 1903, she was married to Mr. Brockhaus, and the couple left January 29, 1905, for St. Louis, where Mr. Brockhaus took charge of a restaurant. The deceased was for a time engaged in the office of the Dodge Manufacturing Co. and made many friends. She was an estimable young lady of a lovable disposition and her many acquaintances learn with deep regret of her early demise.

Mrs. Brockhaus is survived by the parents, a brother, William, of Canton, O., and one sister, Miss Hazel Witwer, of this city."
