Mrs. Louis Quarles, 84, wife of a well-known attorney, died of complications of age Friday at her home, 2225 N. Lake Drive.

Attorney Quarles is the senior partner in the law firm of Quarles, Herriott, Clemons, Teschner, and Noelke, with offices at 411 E. Mason Street.

Mrs. Quarles was born in Milwaukee, the former Inez French. She was graduated from Milwaukee- Downer seminary and then attended Milwaukee-Downer college. She later was graduated from the Curry School of Expression, a dramatics school in Boston.

She was a member of the Women's Club of Wisconsin, Milwaukee Children's hospital auxiliary, and St. Paul's Episcopal Church. She also was active in work for the Milwaukee Protestant Home for the Aged.

In addition to her husband, Mrs. Quarles is survived by a daughter, Mrs. Will (Louise) Huggins, Shorewood; a son, Charles S., Whitefish Bay, and a brother, Samuel L. French, Tomah.

Services will be held at 10 a.m. Monday at the Weiss funeral home, 1901 N. Farwell Avenue. Burial will be in Green Ridge Cemetery, Kenosha.
