A Mass of Christian Burial was held at St. Cyril's Catholic Church Bannister, MI on Friday, January 28, 2011. Rev. Fr. Wolfgang Streichardt officiated. A rosary was prayed Thursday evening at the funeral home.
Marilyn was the daughter of John and Anna (Tomasek) Kral. She graduated from Ashley High School with the class of 1960 and attended Central Michigan University receiving her bachelor's degree. On December 27, 1969 she married Joseph Galecka in Bannister, Michigan, Joe died on January 21, 2007. Marilyn was a homemaker. She had taught elementary school before her marriage. She enjoyed playing cards, accordion, and was the keeper of the family history. Marilyn helped run the family farm and orchard. Family and friends were very important to her. She enjoyed her grandchildren and spending time at the cabin on Higgins Lake. She resided most of her life in the Elsie area and was a member of St. Cyril's Catholic Church, Bannister, MI, and a member of the St. Cyril's Altar Society.
She is survived by her 3 sons; Craig and Heather Galecka of Williamston, MI, Matt and Jessica Galecka of Dimondale, MI, and Mark Galecka of Novi, MI, grandchildren; Mitchell, Lydia, and Clara Galecka, and brother Richard and Marty Kral of Fife Lake, MI.
She was predeceased by her parents, husband, and daughter in law Michelle.
Memorials may be made to St. Cyril's Catholic Church.
