In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Charlie H. Banks; granddaughter, Staci Banks Wertman; brothers, Edward Stockner, C.B. Stockner and Bobby Stockner.
She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, sons and daughters-in-law, sisters, brother, seven grandchildren and eighteen great-grandchildren.
Ruth has spent her entire life being a devoted wife, a loving and supportive mother and grandmother while living and working on the family farm.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, January 25, 2011 at 1 p.m. at Vaughan Guynn McGrady Chapel with Pastor Bobby Webb officiating. Burial will follow in the Heath Banks Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Monday, January 24, 2011 from 6 to 8 p.m.. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Round Knob Missionary Baptist Church building fund, 2164 Greenberry Road, Fancy Gap, Va., 24328 or to the Heath Banks Cemetery care of Earlene Webb, 950 Windy Ridge Road, Fancy Gap, Va., 24328. The family would like to extend a special thanks to the Galax Twin County Hospice.
