Eula Grace Kent Dawson, 76, of Sandyville, died June 12, at St. Joseph Hospital in Parkersburg, after a lengthy illness.

She was born February 8, 1919, at Windy Ridge in Wirt County, a daughter of the late Ebon and Eula (Archer) Sheppard.

She was employed for 17 years at Viscose in Parkersburg and was a member of Mud Run Church of Christ of Sandyville.

She is survived by one daughter, Patricia Garrett of Sandyville; one stepdaughter, Alyce Tanski of Alemont, CO; three grandchildren, Bart Garrett, Brad Garrett and Laura Garrett of Sandyville; one step granddaughter, Tammie Lackey of Colorado; and one great granddaughter, Katie.

She was preceded in death by her first husband, Jack D. Kent in 1954, and her second husband, Norviel (Dutch) Dawson; one brother, Wayne Sheppard; and two infant sons.

Services are set for 1 p.m. today (Wednesday) at Casto Funeral Home in Ravenswood, with Evangelist Eugene Conger officiating. Burial will be in Odaville Cemetery.
