Services are pending with West Funeral Home for Russell Earl Pimbley, 18, 1005 N. Guadalupe St. He died Thursday at Guadalupe Medical Center.

Mr. Pimbley was born June 9, 1972, in Denver, Colo. In 1976, the family moved to Carlsbad, where he was raised and attended school. Following school, he worked as an electrician's apprentice for Hartech Construction of Brownfield, Texas.

He also worked for Jess's Texaco Service Station in Carlsbad.

He was a member of the Bethel Baptist Church.

Survivors include parents, Gary and Linda Cornett of Carlsbad; and his father, Robert Thomas Pimbley of Idaho; three brothers, Burt Pimbley of Carlsbad, Gary Cornett Jr. of Tulsa, Okla., and Billy Ray Gladwell of Clarksville, Tenn.; two sisters, Victoria Lynn Waldrop of Alma, Ark., and Sheryl Jones of Clarksville, Ark.; and his grandparents, Patricia Pimbley of Los Alamos and Lela Mae Cornett of Phoenix, Ariz.

Services for Russell Earl Pimbley, 1005 N. Guadalupe St., were to be held today at 2 p.m. in the West Funeral Home chapel, with burial to follow in Carlsbad Cemetery. The Rev. Leonard Foster of Happy Valley Baptist Church was to officiate.

Mr. Pimbley died Thursday at Guadalupe Medical Center. He was 18.

Pallbearers were Bobby Steward, Hank Miller, Kevin McCory, Ivan Ruiz, Robby Hutchson and Burt Pimbley.
