Frank was a 1947 Ellis High School Graduate. He was a US Navy Veteran serving during WWII and then joined the US Air Force during the Korean War. Frank was a longtime Ellis businessman operating two businesses, Augustine's Electric and Augustine's Liquor. He also drove a school bus for the Ellis school district for ten years. He was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church, 3rd and 4th degree Knights of Columbus of Ellis. Frank had also served on the St. Mary's Church Council, Ellis Volunteer Fire Department and the Golden Belt Credit Union Loan Committee.
He is survived by his wife, Juanita of Ellis, two sons, Daryl F. Augustine and wife Sandy, Jeff L. Augustine and wife Judy all of Hays, a daughter, Henrietta M. Rupp and husband James of Lakewood, CO., a brother, Gary Augustine of Export, PENN., two sisters, Lillie Lang of WaKeeney and Norma Lang of Ellis, eleven grandchildren, Jennifer, Eric and Matthew Augustine, Jessica Portugal, Alanna Smith, Tori Hively, Joshua, Kristin, Clarissa, Tyler and Damian Rupp, Chris and Mindy Lang, seven great grandchildren, Keaton, Kailee Augustine, Jace Shinette, Rhianna and Giada Smith, Kyle Portugal and Brayden Hively.
He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, Lewis and Michael Augustine, three sisters, Teresa Herl, Sheila Carper and Rosie Duncan and one great grandson, Jackson Augustine.
Funeral services will be Tuesday at 10:30 A.M. at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Ellis. Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery with military honors by the Ellis VFW.
Visitation will be on Monday 5:30 P.M. – 8:00 P.M. at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Ellis. Visitation on Tuesday will be 9:00 A.M. – 10:00 A.M at Keithley Funeral Chapel, 400 E. 17th, Ellis.
A family rosary will be Monday at 6:00 P.M. with a parish vigil service at 7:00 P.M. followed by a 3rd and 4th degree Knights of Columbus rosary all at the church.
