A SHERIDAN WOMAN DIED LAST NIGHT
MOTHER OF EIGHT CHILDREN
PASSES AWAY AT HER HOME.
FUNERAL TO BE ON SATURDAY
Mrs. Edward Bassford was Fond of Her Home and Its Environments and Goes to Her Reward.
After a prolonged illness of several weeks, Mrs. Edward Bassford died at 11 o'clock last night at her home, No. 327 Wyoming avenue.
Mary Leah Knapp was born August 7, 1858. She was united in marriage to Edward Bassford, May 16, 1881, at Woodbury, la. Eight children were born to this union all of whom sur vive with the exception of a daughter, Mary Edna Bassford, who died last March. The surviving children are Mrs. W. O. Davis, Alfred Bassford, Edward Bassford, Lottie Bassford, Lulu Bassford, Ethel Bassford, Myrtle Bassford. The husband and a brother, S. A. Knapp, of Joliet, Mont., are the other living relatives.
Funeral will be held Saturday after noon at 2:30 o'clock from the Baptist church, of which the deceased had been a member since girlhood. Interment will be at Mount Hope cemetery.
Mary Leah KNAPP, daughter of A. D. KNAPP (1812-1888 ) & Sarah E. DENING/HUSTON (abt Apr 1831-9 Feb 1900), married to Edward C. Bassford on 16 May 1881 in Woodbury, IA. Born on 7 Aug 1858 in Pennsylvania. Mary Leah died in Sheriden, Sheriden Co., WY, on 26 Jan 1911 age 52 years 5 months 18 days. Buried in Mount Hope Cemetery, Sheriden Co., WY. aka: Mary E.
