Mr. Head, the son of the late John Riley and Katie May Head was born on December 29, 1922 and died Tuesday, February 14, 1995 at the St. Francis Medical Center in Monroe.
He was a retired carpenter and maintenance supervisor at the Caldwell Memorial Hospital in Columbia. He was a member of Columbia Masonic Lodge 164 and a member of the Columbia Heights Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife: Claudine Wheeler Head of Columbia; his daughter and son-in-law: Lorraine and Buck Legg of Columbia, his step-daughters: Carla Lively of Shaw, Beverly Wyles and Stacey Alger both of Columbia, his brothers, J. R. Head, Jr. of Columbia, Roy Head of Tyler, Tx. and Troy Head of Frankston, Tx., his grandchildren: Eddie Legg, Heath Legg and Misty Legg all of Columbia, his great-grandson: Christopher Legg and seven Step-grandchildren.
Pallbearers include: Randy Hatten, Steve May, Hall Winters, Gerald Rushing, Marty Spangler, Jeff Parker, Terry Hall and Clint Simmons.
