Addie was born in May 1855** (although her headstone shows she was born in 1859), in Louisville and always remained at home with her parents as was customary at that time, until they passed away. She never married. Her father was a carriage maker and had a thriving business in Louisville with his sons also working at the family's business. Three of her older sisters married and Mary Ella, another older sister, didn't marry, but lived at home until she also passed away in 1899. Addie's parents died in the early 1900's and she went to live with her brother, Herbert, his wife, Beaulah (Lunn) Baker, and Beaulah's daughter from a prior marriage, Anna Mae Drysdale. By 1920, Addie had moved in with her widowed sister, Annie (Baker) Olvey, whose husband had died in 1912. They lived together in her home which was paid for, so no mortgage payment was due. Both declared no earnings during this time, but must have had other income of some kind. Annie passed away June 20th, 1928 and was buried at Cave Hill Cemetery. Addie died March 1st, 1943, still a resident of Jefferson County, Kentucky, although I've not found a census record for her for 1930 and 1940. She was buried with her parents and siblings at the Cave Hill Cemetery, Louisville, Jefferson County, Kentucky. May she Rest at Peace with her Loved ones in Paradise.
**1860 Census (dated Jul 27) shows Addie is 5 years of age.
1870 Census (dated Jun 15) shows Addie is 15 yrs. of age.
1880 Census (dated Jun 5) shows Addie is 25 yrs. of age.
1900 Census (dated Jun 5) shows Addie was born May 1854 and her age is 46 yrs.
Created by her grand niece, Kathie L. Webb Blair, and amended Aug 18, 2018.
