Hiram was the son of Hiram and Catherine DePriest Casey born in TN. He married in Halifax Va to Elizabeth Ann Lax and there were located in Honey Grove, Fannin Co., TX when he died at age 31. There were two son John b. 1848 and David b. 1849. Elizabeth returned to VA and remarried and had several more children.
