Lorraine Margaret Bauman was born May 24, 1920 in Falls City, Neb., to Lawrence and Edith Bauman. She grew up in Falls City and graduated from Peru State College in Peru, Neb., where she became a school teacher. On June 8, 1944, she married Sgt. Harry Albert in Camp Polk, La., and they lived formerly in Falls City and Lincoln before moving to Ft. Collins in 1997, to be closer to their son and his family.
Lorraine taught public school children for 40 years prior to retiring. She was an active member of St. Joseph Parish and enjoyed craftwork and painting.
She is survived by her son, Michael Albert, of Ft. Collins; two grandchildren, Stephanie and Trenton; two sisters, Mary Lou Barrow of Lodi, Calif., and Ilene Lundy of Hiawatha, Kansas; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Harry, who died in 2001; and brother, Sylvester J. Bauman.
