Linley Earl Hawver, 73, postmaster in Milmine for 25 years, died at his home Sept 6. Services were held in the Milmine Congregational Church with burial in Bement cemetery.

He was born March 16, 1892 in Milmine the s/o Isaac and Lulu Brandenburg Hawver. He married Ruth M. Johnstone on Aug 31, 1921 in Galea. Survivors include his wife; a daughter, Dorothy (Richard) Harvey, Denver CO; a brother, Arbie, Bement; two sisters: Edna Hawver and Bessie Hawver, both of Long Beach CA; and three granddaughters.

He was a deacon in the Milmine Congregational Christian Church; and was a lieutenant in the Quartermaster Corps during WW I. A lifetime resident of Milmine, he ran the general store there for many years and worked in the post office 15 years before becomine postmaster.
