Tom was the middle child of 19: all born in and around London Ky.

Son of Jackson and Elizabeth TUTTLE- COLLINS from the same place.

Tom Married Mary Marie Lay Dec 1927.

Tom and Mary has 11 children: Thomas Jr., James, Aaron, William, Roy, Jack, Matt, albert (he shot and killed my dad, Thomas Jr.),Panzy, Polly , Maggie.

Grandpa of 27
step grandpa to 1 sherry(Roy's step daughter)

Grandpa had a hard life growing up in the hills of Corbin ,Ky. you either worked in the coal mines, rail roads, or ran shine.

When grandpa was young and working for the rail road down in Corbin, he lost his left eye to a spike. As a child I can remember him taking his blue glass eye out and rubbing the dust off it. It would scair us kids...

Grandpa loved to watched his fights on tv. Oh he believed every move Dick the brusier made was real. He and dad would go around and around over that show every weekend. it was so funny. Grandpa loved to tell stories also.

I remember him living at 225 South Kentucky Street for like 25 years+. He mowed yards in the summer time. He never learned how to drive a car. He walked everywhere.

The last time I seen grandpa alive was on a Sunday late Aug. 1985. A couple of weeks before he died. He was in the Indianapolis hospital and he called me, and said " Kathy honey, I decided not to have the heart operation, and so it will be just a couple of months at the longest I have to live. I want you to come see me next Sun. I have something for you. Call and make sure I am home from here, but I think I will be." So i went to Plainfield to see him, he had a box full of pictures he gave me, he knew I loved to dig into the family history. I got all I wanted,I was so touched, he told me story's about our family in the pictures. How there was shooting at his dad's grave site funeral, the story behind it and so on. well a few hours past, and it was time for me to go. I knew it would be the last time I ever seen him alive and he too knew it. We stepped out side and talked in privet. grandpa hugged me and kissed my cheek, I cried, and whispered in his ear, tell dad I miss and love him when you see him. And to stay out of trouble. Grandpa laughed. It was a hot day and so I left after I had a cousin take a picture of grandpa and myself along with my oldest son. As I drove home I had a broken heart that day. For i knew that was the last time I would see him alive. His funeral was sad and I am glad I went to see him.

My Grandpa was an awesome grandpa xo
