She was born in Sanford, the daughter of Seymour and Bessie (Staples) Ainsworth.
Her loving husband of 71 years, Paul, who will be 93, this year, survives her, along with her sons Keith, Bruce, Ronald, 7 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren.
Ethel loved to tell you a joke, and make sure the two stray cats, got warm milk every day. She looked forward to her bridge game every Tuesday, and would watch Andre Rieu daily, if she could. She loved eating out, and at home, her favorites were peanut butter sandwiches, yogurt, apples, chocolate chip cookies, and blueberry nut bread.
She always hustled to get to church one hour early, to spend time with some of her friends.
She loved sitting outside, admiring the flowers, and watching the chipmunks. She had some special neighbor friends, whom she enjoyed the company of, and who cared very deeply for her.
We thank you all, for the friendship you gave her, and know she loved you, in a very genuine way. We will all miss her, and we love her very much.
Rev. Ginny Gass officiated.
Interment in the Southern Maine Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Springvale.
