Charlotte E. Kincaid of Brownsburg died May 28, 2002 at the Brownsburg Health Care Center. She was 95. Born Nov. 10, 1906 in Lizton, she was the daughter of the late Solomon Thomas and Martha (Hall) Ellis. She married Frederick Earl Kincaid March 30, 1929 in LaPorte. He preceded her in death. Mrs. Kincaid was a 1925 graduate of Lizton High School. After attending the University of Illinois, she continued her education at Madam Blaker's Teachers College in Indianapolis. She taught third grade for 33 years in Lizton before retiring in 1975. She was a member of the New Brunswick Church of Christ, Indiana State Teachers Association and the Hendricks County Retired Teachers Association. Survivors include a son, Garland E. Kincaid of Lizton; six grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. Preceding her in death was a daughter, Carol Ann Hitch; a grandson, Greg Hitch; a brother, Dr. L. H. "Hall" Ellis; and sisters, Elfia Leach and Floris Cole. The funeral service was held on May 31 at the Myers Mortuary in Lebanon with the Revs. Garland E. Kincaid and David Frye officating. Interment was in the Lizton Knights of Pythias Cemetery.
