She was born Jan. 12, 1921, in the town of Forestville, to the late Karl and Elizabeth (Nell) Uecker.
Arvilla was active in 4-H, the church, was a seamstress, and enjoyed cooking.
She was employed at the Plumbers until retirement.
Arvilla married Bennett Ballestad June 20, 1945, in Forestville. He preceded her in death in 1983.
She is survived by her children, Karl (Shelia) Ballestad, Oconto, and Maren (Jack) Schultz, Algoma; eight grandchildren, Amy Ballestad, Ted (Michelle) Ballestad, Julie (Alan) Schmitz, Ben (Michelle) Schultz, Nathan (Natalia) Schultz, Tim (Nicki) Schultz, Dan Schultz and friend, Jessica Hinze, and Heather (John) Weltin; eight great-grandchildren; one sister, Gerry (Roy) Schlise, Forestville; one brother-in-law, Marvin Bushman, Peshtigo; many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
She was preceded in death by two children; two sisters; and one brother.
Friends may call from 10 to 11 a.m. on Friday, Sept. 2, 2005, at Tanum Forest Lutheran Church, Sturgeon Bay. Memorial service at 11 a.m. with Pastor Philip Peterson officiating.
Arvilla's wishes were to have her body donated to science, to be able to help someone else.
