Final Rites for L. Allen of Estherville
Funeral services were held at 2 o'clock this afternoon for Loyd Allen, 75, Estherville who died Saturday [June 29, 1968] morning of a heart attack.

Allen died at his home, 1003 N. 8th St.

He was born June 21, 1893, Moline, Kansas to Mr. and Mrs. Harry Allen. He was married June 21, 1912 to Irene Maupin at Fairfield, Tex. She died in 1958.

He was married later that year to Hazel Kately at Des Moines. His employment included work on the Rock Island Railroad as a machinist.

He was a resident of Estherville for 48 years. He was also a member of the Presbyterian church and the Historical Society in Estherville.

Survivors include his wife, Hazel; two daughters, Mrs. M. R. (Ruth) Ringham, Estherville; Mrs. K.E. (Milly) Rockne, Estherville; two stepchildren, Tone Kately, Estherville; Mrs. Quintin Hill, Des Moines; four grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

His parents and first wife preceded him in death.

Services were at the Reese-Henry Funeral Chapel with Rev. H. Allen Wirtz, Estherville officiating. Burial was to be at Oak Hill Cemetery.

Honorary pallbearers include Carl Skog, Peter Geil, William Hunt, Harry Wratten, John Wee, and George Kibbee.

Active pallbearers are Mike Ringham, John Allen, Roy Hammond, Elmo Barleman, Obert Rockne, and Lloyd Rockne.
