Funeral services for Mary Ellen Rowland, 77, will be at 2:00 pm Tuesday, July 11, 1978 in the Delano Mortuary, formerly of Sequoyah County, with Rev Perry Fraze and the Rev Van Cummings officiating. Burial will be in the North Kern District Cemetery.
Mrs Rowland was born Dec 31, 1900 in Fackler, Alabama to William Allen Owens and Avis Adline (Atkerson) Owens they both proceded her in death. She moved to Sequoyah County when she was only 12 years old and moved to California in 1944. She died July 08, 1978 in Delano. She married Perry G Rowland in 1917 he proceded her in death Feb 17, 1965.
She is survied by six sons, Hubert, Clifford, Donald, and Howard, all of Delano, California, Watie of Bakersfield, California and Wayne of Pleasanton, California; five daughters, Ruby Taylor and Edith Martin, both of Sallisaw, Oklahoma; Ruth Hurst of MacFarland, California; Avis Sparks and Edna Sneed both of Delano, California; four sisters, Bertha Allen and Willie Davis both of Sallisaw, Oklahoma, Lula Rowland of Warner, Oklahoma and Flora Stump, Drmright, Oklahoma; 38 grandchildren and 34 great-grandchildren.
Burial in the North Kern District Cemetery.
