Obituary.
Lena Ethel Robinson was born in Ringgold Co., Iowa, Jan. 25, 1886, and died in Denver, Colo., July 17, 1905, being 19 years, 5 months and 22 days of age.
The deceased was the third child of Mr. and Mrs. J. W. Robinson. She leaves parents, three brothers and two sisters to mourn her out-going.
She went with her parents to Decatur county when about two years of age, where the family lived until some nine years ago; when they came to this county, where they have since lived.
Here she grew to womanhood and was educated. She obtained a certificate and taught one term of school in her home district.
The deceased professed her faith in Christ in the year of 1900, and united with the Methodist Protestant church, and with the Fremont congregation. She lived a simple, trusting christian life, walking all the way with her savior, never doubting or denying Him. She was a great worker in the church, and was never happier than when about Christian work. Her life speaks for itself and is worthy of the emulation of all her young companions.
She had been ill only about three months. In February she had a very severe attack of La Grippe, from which she never recovered, and rapidly passed into consumption, that dread disease from which there seems to be no security. The attending physician here advised the parents to take her to Colorado about two two weeks ago. The parents at once made arrangements to take her, and started on Wednesday, July 11. She seemed to be getting better, but the sudden change in altitude was fatal to her, and she died Monday, July 17. Just one week from the time of starting to Colorado she was brought home dead.
Thus passes a young and beautiful life. She was lovely by all who knew her, was an ideal daughter and fulfilled all the relations of life in a way that spoke of her pure heart.
The funeral was conducted by the writer, from the Fremont church, on Thursday, July 20, in the presence of friends and relatives, after which the sacred ashes were laid to rest in Fremont cemetery to await the summons of the Resurrection Morning. Her ransomed spirit sweetly greats Jesus. We can but commend her heart broken parents and brothers and sisters to the Father of all mercy, in whom she trusted, for their comfort. The sympathy of an entire community goes out to them.
