Ms. Leaverton was born in Okmulgee on Nov. 14, 1934, and lived on Spring Creek in Peggs during her early years. She graduated from Bagley High School in Tahlequah and attending Northeastern State University. She worked at Wheatly in Tulsa as a vera typist and became a domestic engineer in 1968. She was a Claremore resident from 1977 to 2006 when she moved to Jacksonville, Fla. to be with her family. She is survived by: her son, Daniel Dee Leaverton and his wife Jeanie; granddaughters Jamie and Jenna Leaverton, all of Jacksonville, Fla.; son Robert Leaverton and his wife, Ava of Sand Springs; sister Betty Ann Hamby, brother Joe Ledbetter and stepmother Betty, all of Walla Walla, Wash. Services are scheduled for 10:30 a.m., Friday, May 19, 2006 in the Verdigris Assembly of God. Graveside services will follow at 3 p.m. in the Agnew Cemetery in Keefeton. Hersman Nichols Funeral was in charge of arrangements.
