Monrovia
The body of Mrs. Henry Best of McAllen Tex., was taken to Effingham Wednesday, where it was met by a motor hearse and taken to Stutz and Shifflets undertaking parlors, before being brought to the Monrovia cemetery for interment in the Best lot. Albert Churchill, who has had charge of the Best graves for years, assisted by his son, Will, dug the grave for the Best funeral Tuesday. A six month old baby daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Lew Best, buried in 1869 was moved to make room for the new grave.

McALLEN, Sept. 19—Funeral services for Mrs. Mary A. Best, 84, pioneer resident of the Lower Rio Grande Valley, were held form Martin-Nelson Funeral Home here Monday night. The remains were shipped to Effingham, Kansas for interment.
Mrs. Best widow of the late Capt. H. F. Best, came to the Valley more than 20 years ago with her husband. She was one of the prominent pioneer women of the section and had lived here almost continuously for two decades.
