Samuel was born and raised in Grant County, WI then married Amanda "Anna" Blomberg in about 1895 in MN. They moved west to Kalispell, MT then to Bonners Ferry, ID by about 1902. Moved to St. Maries,ID in 1921, Lewiston, ID by 1930, finally to Yakima, WA
