NAMPA — Services for John Victor Briggs, 76, of 628 Chestnut St., Nampa, who died Feb. 25, 1982, at home, will be conducted at 2 p.m. Monday in Flahiff Funeral Chapel, Nampa, by Bishop David 0. Badger of the Nampa 2nd Ward, Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Interment will follow in Hillcrest Memorial Gardens, Caldwell.
He was born Oct. 15, 1905, in Lewisville, near Idaho Falls. At an early age, he moved with his family to Wapello, near Blackfoot, where he attended primary school. He graduated from Blackfoot High School in 1923 and from Utah State University in 1928. He married Lavon Johnston on Feb. 1, 1934, in the Salt Lake City LDS Temple. They lived in Idaho, Washington and Nevada. He was a civilian employee of the Navy, living at Fallon, Nev., and in California. His work took him to all the naval facilities on the West Coast and Alaska. He retired in February 1975. They moved to Nampa in January 1979. He was a member of the Nampa 2nd Ward LDS Church.
Survivors include his wife of Nampa; a son, Wade J. of Sandy, Utah; two daughters, Mrs. Jerry V. (Beverly) Sullivan of Lovelock, Nev., and Mrs. Terry N. (Loraine) Ekberg of Salt Lake City; a brother, Kenneth W. of Pocatello; three sisters, Theodocia Love of Buhl, Vonda Teply of Mountain Home, and Rhua Reynolds of Blackfoot; 11 grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a brother and a granddaughter.
Friends may call at the mortuary from 1 to 9 p.m. today and from 9 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Monday.
Memorials may be made to a favorite charity.
