Theodore E. Stern, 79, died Thursday evening in the Wabasso nursing home. A former Lamberton resident, he had been in failing health three months. Funeral services were held Monday afternoon in Lamberton Zion Lutheran church with Rev. Nils Lillejord officiating. Pallbearers were Leo Gebhard, Herman Hubert, Darrel Koch, William Detlefsen, Reinhardt Kratzke and Theodore Fixen all of Lamberton. Interment was in the Sanborn Zion Lutheran church cemetery with Kluegel's funeral home of Lamberton in charge.

Mr. Stern was born August 25, 1888 at Springfield, a son of Mr. and Mrs. Herman Stern. He married Elizabeth Kosel June 4, 1917 and she died January 16, 1934. He then married Bertha Juhnke February 7, 1935. He farmed near Sanborn until 1948 when he retired and moved to Lamberton.

Survivors include his wife, a resident at Wabasso nursing home; children, Glenn and Mrs. Mel (Betty) Van DeWoestyne, Coal Valley, Ill., Wilbert of Comfrey, Warren and Mrs. Charles (Arlene) Van Rycke, Moline, Ill., Mrs. Kim (Leona) Gunneson, Sleepy Eye, Mrs. Harland (Bertha) Nelson, St. Paul, and Mrs. Vernon (Ruth) Daluge, Waukegan, Ill.; 25 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren.
