Died at her home near this place on Wednesday, the 15th inst., Mrs. Nancy Buckler, in the 61st year of her age. Her remains were interred in the cemetery at Smock's Chapel the following day, followed by a large number of her relatives and friends. She had been twice married. Three sons and one daughter were the results of her first union, with Morgan Davis, one of whom (Garrett Davis) preceded her to the grave.
Her second union, with Williston T. Buckler, who survives her, resulted in the birth of two sons and four daughters, all of whom are living. She was a devoted wife, and an exceedingly kind mother, a good neighbor, and had been for many years a consistent member of the Methodist Episcopal Church South, and passed from time to eternity with a lively christian hope in the merits and promises of her Redeemer. May her aged and bereaved husband be comforted in his declining years, and guard and protect with a christian father's care those of his children who are yet of a tender age.
