Lucy Aldene Bowser, 83, of Templeton, died Thursday, Jan. 13, 2011, in Armstrong County Health Center.

She was born March 24, 1927, in Templeton, a daughter of the late Arnold Stewart John and Emma Jane (Miller) John.

She was a homemaker and attended Templeton Methodist Church. She enjoyed working puzzles and watching Western movies.

Survivors include her granddaughter, Doretta Cooper; grandson, Allen Cooper; great-grandsons, Curtis Cochran and Dylan Cochran; and son-in-law, Keith Cooper, all of Dayton.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, John Bartley Sherman; second husband, Owen Bowser; daughter, Viola Laura Louise Cooper; brother, Oscar John; and two sisters, Viola Shingledecker and Helen Kaufman.

Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Friday in the KENNEDY & BLODGETT FUNERAL HOME, Kittanning, where services will be held at noon Saturday in the funeral home with one hour of additional viewing prior to the service.

Interment in Cochran Cemetery.
