Mrs. Nancy Jane Biggs died yesterday at Red Fern, this county, at the home of her son, Henry Biggs, with whom she had made her home for several years. Deceased was the widow of John (Henry) Biggs, who preceded her to the grave twenty years. She was advanced in aged and although she had enjoyed good health for a long time, her constitution was unable to withstand a severe attack of the dread pneumonia. She was a devout member of the Methodist church, respected far and near and known by all as a woman of irreproachable character throughout the long and useful period of her life. Five sons survive, three of whom, Henry, Cliff and Butler Biggs, are residents of this county, while Jacob Biggs is now in Texas. The funeral will be conducted this afternoon at two o'clock at the late home by the pastor, Rev. J. S. Chandler, after which the remains will be laid to rest in Brookside Cemetery. ~The News-Journal, Thursday, January 23, 1919
