Indian Wars Medal of Honor Recipient. Born in 1841, at Fairfield County, Ohio, he served as a Private in Company F, 3rd Cavalry, US Army. On May 5, 1871, during a battle with hostile Indian forces, Private Miller was one of five soldiers who displayed courage while on a forward patrol in the Whetstone Mountains of Arizona. For gallantry in action, he was awarded the Medal of Honor on November 13, 1871. He at the age of 33 in Maxwell, Nebraska.
