THE VILLAGES — Marian Turner Eure, 72, died Monday, Jan. 3, 2011.

Mrs. Eure was born in Winton, Hertford County, NC. She was a retired teacher from the Virginia Beach, VA, public school system, and a member of Winton Baptist Church, Winton, NC.

Survivors include her husband, Judson, and many extended family members.

Visitation will be 7-8 p.m. Friday, Jan. 7, at Miller Funeral Home, Gatesville, N.C. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 8, at Winton Baptist Church, with the Rev. Joseph Futrell officiating. Burial will follow in the Ahoskie Cemetery.

A visitation will be held in the social hall of the church immediately following the services.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Winton Baptist Church, P.O. Box 425, Winton, NC 27986, or the Winton Fire Dept., P.O. Box 436, Winton, NC 27986.

Miller Funeral Home, Gatesville, NC, is in charge of arrangements.

Marian Turner Eure, 72, of 2101 Barbosa Court, and formerly of Chesapeake, VA and Ahoskie, NC died Monday, January 3, 2011 in The Villages Hospital.

Mrs. Eure was born in Winton, Hertford County, NC and was the daughter of the late Johnnie Paul and Margaret Doughtie Turner. A graduate of East Carolina University, she was a retired teacher from the Virginia Beach, VA public school system, and was a member of Winton Baptist Church.

Surviving are her husband, Judson Eure; and many extended family members and dear friends.

Funeral services will be held Saturday at 11:00 a.m. in Winton Baptist Church by the Rev. Joseph Futrell. Burial will follow in the Ahoskie Cemetery. Friends may join the family Friday from 7:00 to 8:00 p.m. in Miller Funeral Home, 304 Main Street, Gatesville, and in the social hall of the church immediately following the service on Saturday.

In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to the Winton Baptist Church, PO Box 425 or to the Winton Fire Dept., PO Box 436, both in Winton, NC 27986.
