Obituary
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Monday, March 15, 2004, at a Mass in St. Peter Roman Catholic Church in Carencro for Mrs. Shirley Broussard, 67, the former Daisy Dean Guidry, who died at 2:30 a.m. Friday, March 12, 2004, in Our Lady of Lourdes Regional Medical Center in Lafayette.

Interment will be in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens in Lafayette.

The Rev. Albert G. Nunez, pastor of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Washington, La., will officiate at the services. Readers will be Kaitlin Broussard, Blake Broussard and David Broussard. Giftbearers will be Sean Broussard and Kaitlin Broussard.

Musical selections will be provided by Valarie Andrus. The songs will be "Amazing Grace," "How Great Thou Art," "You Will Always Be A Child In My Eyes" and "Ave Maria."

Mrs. Broussard was a native and lifelong resident of Carencro. She was a parishioner of St. Peter Roman Catholic Church in Carencro and had been a member of the Bonne Mort Society.

Survivors include her husband, Shirley Broussard, of Church Point; two sons, Geary Broussard and his wife, Pam, of Carencro, and Kenneth Broussard and his companion, Lana, of Lafayette; three daughters, Vickie Denaise and her husband, Robert, of Lafayette, Susan Broussard, of Church Point, and Denise Broussard and her husband, Wade, of Lafayette; 10 grandchildren; one great-grandchild; her mother, Agnes Latiolais Guidry, of Church Point; two brothers, David Guidry Jr. and his wife, Deanna, of Lafayette, and John Earl Guidry and his wife, Linda, of Carencro; two sisters, Evangeline Romero and her husband, Leroy, and Marie Reed and her husband, Harold, all of Lafayette; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her father, David Guidry Sr.

Pallbearers will be Geary Broussard, Jared Broussard, Kenneth Broussard, Jacob Hess, Robert Denais and Wade Broussard.

Melancon Funeral Home, Evangeline Memorial Gardens Chapel, 4117 N. University Ave., Carencro was in charge of arrangements.
