-- CHESTER - Mr. Grover Cleveland "Cleve" Boulware Jr. died Saturday, Sept. 11, 2010, at Chester Regional Nursing Center in Chester.

The funeral service was held at 3 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 14, 2010, at Wesley Memorial United Methodist Church with Rev. Arthur Vick officiating. The interment followed in Chester Memorial Gardens.

Born in Chester, Mr. Boulware was the son of the late Grover Cleveland Boulware Sr. and Daphne Smith Boulware Helms. He attended the schools of Chester County and was a retired Superintendent with the Salvation Army Camp Walter Johnson in Denton, N.C. He was a member of Wesley Memorial United Methodist Church and a former volunteer fireman for the Healing Springs Volunteer Fire Department and Rescue Squad in Denton, N.C.

He is survived by one daughter, Denise C. Lawson and her husband, Mike, of Chester; four grandchildren, Amanda L. Freeman of Richburg, Michael C. Lawson of Pittsburgh, Carli B. Dent of Thomasville, N.C. and Grover C. "Corey" Boulware IV of Denton, N.C.; and three great-grandchildren, Laci Ahrens of Thomasville, N.C., Jordan Freeman of Richburg and Gabrielle Boulware of Denton.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Harriette Caston Boulware; and a son, Grover Cleveland "Hut" Boulware III.

Memorials may be made to Wesley United Methodist Church, 1217 J.A. Cochran Bypass, Chester, SC 29706.
