ZELPHA KERR
Frances Zelpha Lindley Kerr, 81, resident of 6410 Highway 25 North, widow of James William Kerr, died Thursday, January 6, 2011 at Self Regional Medical Center.
Born November 22, 1929 in Ware Shoals, she was a daughter of the late Roy and May Dell Thompson Lindley. Mrs. Kerr retired from Riegel Textiles after more than twenty years of service and later retired from Park Seed Company. A member of Walnut Grove Baptist Church, she was a member of the M.E. Riley Sunday School Class and Golden Agers of the church.
Mrs. Kerr was preceded in death by two brothers, Russell Eugene Lindley and Richard O. Lindley.
Survivors include a daughter, Susan Terry of the home; son, Steve Kerr, also of the home; grandson, Kerry Holley and wife, Jamie of Hodges; great grandchildren, Chevy and Jordon Holley, also of Hodges; sister-in-law, Doris Lindley of Edgefield; and special friends and neighbors, Bobby and Willie Mae Powell of Hodges.
A memorial service will be conducted Sunday at 4:00 PM from the Blyth Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend David Corbitt officiating. Private burial will be in Greenwood Memorial Gardens.
The family is at the home and will receive friends at the funeral home Sunday from 3-4 PM.
