Ed was the son of Henry Hubert Scheidt & Mary Elizabeth Heinen. He met Marjorie Aileen McKee while working for the same moving and storage company in Salina, Kansas. They married 13 Aug 1939 in Ellsworth, Kansas. They moved to Washington State in 1940. During WWII Ed worked in the shipyards welding in the bottom of ships until he was drafted and entered the U.S. Army 19 Jun 1944. He participated in the Battle of the Bulge, and was discharged 8 Jan 1946. Afterwards, they started their own moving and storage company. They have 4 daughters and 3 sons.
