Marat (pronounced Merrit) Megee was the son of Benjamin and Elizabeth Maret Megee. He married Nancy Bruce in Pickens County South Carolina. Their children were: Benjamin F. Megee (1830-1862), Susan Elizabeth Megee (1831-1916), Martha Ann Megee (1834-1911), Robert Bruce Megee (1836-1917), Mary Frances Megee (1840-1917), Hepsy Catherine Megee (1844-1863), Nancy Eliza Megee (1846-1931)

I would so love to be able to post a picture of gggrandfather Marat, but according to family history, even though he was implored to have one made, he refused.
