Chapman, Joseph Howard "Joe" - 87, Truro passed away January 1, 2011 in Colchester Regional Hospital, Truro. Born in Truro, he was a son of the late Martin and Florence (Adams) Chapman. Joe attended school in Bible Hill as well as the Agricultural College. He and his wife, Audrey spent a number of years working with the Boy Scouts in Bible Hill and the East Court Road PTA. He worked as a mechanic at Stanfield's Ltd. and as a counselor at the Nova Scotia Youth Training Center for many years. He was also a member of the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 26 in Truro. He was predeceased by his wife of 63 years, Audrey (McLean) in 2006; daughter, Joyce (Clarke), Yale, B.C. in 2000. Surviving are sons, Joseph (Donna), Walter (Sheila), both of White Rock, B.C., John (Adrianne), Valley; daughter, Brenda (Raymond), Bible Hill; 11 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; sister, Lorna (Bob) Manzer, Bible Hill. Special thanks to Dr. Michael Murray and the staff at the Colchester Regional Hospital. Visitation will be held on Thursday, January 6th from 7-9 pm with a memorial service on Friday, January 7th at 2:00 pm, both in Colchester Community Funeral Home, 512 Willow Street, Truro with Pastor Henry Boehm officiating. Interment at a later date in Bible Hill Cemetery. Donations in his memory may be made to the Lung Association of Nova Scotia or the Colchester Regional Hospital Foundation.
