Sargent First Class David Otto "Sarge" Waller Retired, age 73, passed away Monday January 3, 2011. He was born on December 12, 1937 in Lawrenceville, Illinois to Otto and Hazel (Ash) Waller who have both preceded him in death, as well as his son Jeffery Lee Waller.

"Sarge" enlisted in the U.S. Army where he worked as a Calibration Specialist Electrical Repairman. He served in the U.S. Army for "15 years 7 months and 22 years" and retired with a full honorable discharge.

Once "Sarge" retired from the U.S.Army he received an Associate's Degree from ITT Tech and began work for Electra Electronics, he then worked for NAVAL Avionics, and in 2004 he retired from Raytheon after over 25 years of work in the government.

"Sarge" enjoyed fishing, going on cruises with his wife Sharon, hunting, and relaxing at their vacation home at Patoka Lake. He was a huge Colts fan and enjoyed attending hockey games for the Indianapolis Checkers in the 1980's. Scott Waller, daughters, Lori (Scott) Worpell; and Cindy (Gene) Akers;Bonnie Wiggins; his brothers, Kenneth (Ruby); Paul; Steven; Mark (Nora Lee) Waller, and sisters Nora (Ted) Morris; Margaret (Marty) Utech; Ruth (Tom) Moore; Lois Waggoner, and grandchildren Corrie Waller, Lindsey Applegate, Brandy Walls, Tonya Walls, Brittany Hemsley, Trevor Waller, Morrison Akers, Sharilyn Akers, Benjamin Akers, Hanna Worpell,and Chasity Wiggins as well as 8 great grandchildren.
