King, pge 744: "Charlotte Shockley, the only sister of Thomas V., William, and Meredith certainly known to have come to this county, was born April 18, 1812, and died February 4, 1875. The date of her marriage to Parker Atkins is not definitely known, but it likely occurred in this state. He was born in Tennessee July 14, 1809, and died here November 8, 1890. They spent their entire married lives in the northeastern part of the county. The seven children born to them were: Caswell C., Stephen, Adaline, Sallie, Drusa, Thomas, and Lucy Atkins, all of whom are now dead".
