Ruth E. Anthony, age 94, of 2873 Sharonwood Avenue NW, Canton, died December 31, 2010 at the Manor Care Center.

She was born April 23, 1916 in Woodsfield, Ohio to the late Austin and Mary Dalrymple. She was a 1935 graduate of Woodsfield High School and had resided in Canton most of her life.

She was formerly employed for forty-two years as manager for Dr. Maggoire's medical office, retiring in 1986. Ruth was a member of Eagles' Lodge No. 2370. Throughout her adult life, Ruth was an avid bowler and dog lover. During her life, Ruth owned six poodles.

She was preceded in death by her former husband, Laird Anthony, in 1988; and her sister, Evelyn Young. She is survived by her "special" grandson, Michael Reed of Canton; her nieces, Connie Galloway of Irving, Texas and Karen Green of Hot Springs, Arkansas; and her friends, John and Thelma Barnett and Sherry Nevel.

Funeral Services will be conducted at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday in the Reed Funeral Home Canton Chapel with Rev. Gary Smith officiating.
Private burial will be held on Wednesday at Forest Hill Cemetery.
Calling hours will be held on Tuesday from 5:00 p.m. to the time of the services.
